Family Mediation serves individuals experiencing conflict within a variety of relationship contexts, including marriage, divorce, family, school, and work.

Services Offered:

1. Divorce mediation. Often decisions about divorce are based on "the law" or "the best needs of the child".  However, both of those things are often unclear and open to debate. While attorneys and judges are experts in law, the parties are experts in their lives, their personalities, their circumstances, and most certainly the best needs of their child(ren). Mediation is an opportunity for the parties to team up with an expert in conflict resolution and create an individualized mediation agreement based on what they believe will work best for their lives.

2. Post-Decree mediation. Life circumstances and needs are ever-changing, especially in the lives of children. It's not uncommon for families to outgrow the original agreements and orders in their family court matter, but that doesn't mean you need to hire an attorney every time a changing need arises. Mediation is an efficient and cost-effective way to update agreements and orders as family needs change.

3. Cooperative Parenting & Divorce Program (CPD) is an evidence-based psychoeducational program designed to improve the quality of the parental relationship in situations of divorce or separation. Refer to CPD section tab for complete program information.

4. Communication facilitation. Often disputes and conflicts stem from a lack of clear and effective communication. A good mediator is able to help the parties relay their thoughts in a way the other person can better understand. It's amazing how often disputes can be settled by simply clearing up misunderstandings or using language that is more conducive to reaching an agreement.
